Lake Michigan College

Grand Valley Automation, Inc. has a built a partnership with Lake Michigan College through the years, and was selected to upgrade the building automation system at Napier Academic Building. The existing equipment consisted of two new centrifugal chillers, four new high-efficiency boilers, nine new air handling units, 217 new VAV boxes, 15 cabinet unit heaters, 12 unit heaters, 5 exhaust fans, and 46 pumps. Grand Valley Automation also provided and installed 41 new VFDs. We removed the old pneumatic controls and replaced with new Schneider Electric EcoStruxure DDC controls. This project implemented many energy-saving programming measures, such as Optimal Start, Static Pressure Reset, Hot Water Reset, and Chilled Water Reset. The school was able to obtain energy rebates for their new equipment, as well as many of the control measures that were updated, which resulted in an increased ROI for the college.
